Paguera is a busy resort in a picturesque setting. There are a couple of pale sandy beaches that slope gently into the sea making it ideal for children. Lovely as ever, the Hesperia Villamil is very popular with guests from the UK, who enjoy its traditional charm and character. Long established and elegant, it offers the service reminiscent of a 'Grand Hotel'. A recent modernisation has seen the outdoor pool joined by a building with large whirlpool, sauna, Turkish bath and two smaller whirlpools, thus making it suitable for a pleasant holiday throughout the year. The garden is a delight and has plenty of trees and shrubs. The hotel stands immediately above a broad beach of fine sand with souvenir shops, cafés, bars and restaurants on either side. Paguera, 20 km west of Palma, is a favourite beach destination with families and older visitors, as the daytime attractions and nightlife are enjoyable but not frenetic. In keeping with the hotel’s quiet elegance the dress code in public rooms is smart but casual. There is regular evening dancing and fairly discreet live entertainment.
