Ports of call:
Isle of Pines
The waters off the Isle of Pines will impress any visitor with its white, white, talcum-like beach. The Isle of Pines is part of New Caledonia and is situated 50km south east of the mainland. The tall narrow pine trees are a feature of this 17km long island.
Ouvea
Known as 'the closest island to paradise', Ouvea is hailed as New Caledonia's finest beach and is one of the Pacific's most exquisite coral atolls. Home to a stunning 25km beach of pristine white sand fronting a turquoise lagoon, the island has a single road and is less than 40 metres wide at some points. It is an earthly paradise.
Noumea
Le Petit Train is one of the most popular ways of getting from the port into Noumea to explore the city. The famous Tjbaou Cultural centre, one of the jewels of the South Pacific is an architectural masterpiece and is 20 minutes outside the centre. Many of the other sights easily reached by motor trike, fun car, bike or helicopter. Some great tours are on offer outside of the city; 4WD in the bush, hike Mount Koghis, kayak in the Dumbea River. Being the French administrative centre of the islands there are many public and civic buildings built in a distinctive French architecture. The city has some little gems; traditional Boulangerie (Bakery Shops), cafés (where you can taste New Caledonia's own coffee) and fabulous restaurants where you can sample fine New Caledonia foods cooked in a French style with imported French wines. Noumea's most popular destinations are Anse Anse Vata and Baie Citron beaches just a short drive from the city center.
Poum
Poum sits within the world's largest lagoon and is rich in remote Kanak culture. This heavenly haven and it's neighbouring isle offer a choice of four white beaches and aqua waters.
